Free Weight Orientation
Class will include lifting techniques, spotting, safety procedures, and weight room etiquette and is taught by the Center's professional fitness staff. Ages 13-18, cardio & circuit orientation is a prerequisite June 16 - 25 or July 14-23
Midget Football
Registration for the Rec Center's midget football program will be held Wed. June 9 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm at the Rec.
The Rec Center's Midget football program is for boys ages 8 - 14 (age determined as of Sept. 1, 2010) weighing up to 150lbs are eligible. Age and weight combinations are:
D Team - 8 yr olds & 1st year 9 year olds up to 95lbs
C Team - 8 to 10 yr olds up to 110lbs
B Team - 9 to 12 yr olds up to 130lbs
A Team - 10 to 14 yr olds up to 150lbs
Teams play in Red Rose Midget Football League. For more information contact Jim Summers at 738-1167. Visit the Rec Center to sign up for midget football.
Speed Camp for Athletes
On the playing field there is no substitute for strength and speed. Young athletes can elevate their game and prepare for the next season in this new program under the direction of former All-American football player and current Strength and Conditioning Specialist Tyler Trettin. Tyler's experiences at all levels of athletics, from youth to professional, provide the background for a program that will develop agility, flexibility, power and overall athleticism with innovative drills and circuits that make training fun. And the timing is perfect for the fall sport season. Try Speed Camp to make sports more fun and rewarding. June 21 - July 22
Teen Cardio & Circuit Training
Learn how to use the Rec's new cardio and circuit machines in the Center's C & C training class. Class is taught by the Center's professional fitness staff with an emphasis on developing life long fitness habits. Class will include use of new equipment, workout techniques, safety and fitness room etiquette. This class is prerequisite for any students ages 13-18 wishing to use the Center's fitness and weight equipment. June 16 - June 25 or July 14 - July 23
Wado - Ryu Karate
Self Defense with purpose. Wado-Ryu Karate is perfect for all ages and fitness levels, focusing on disciplining the mind and body through low impact and aerobic exercises. Wado-Ryu combines Karate, Jujitsu and Iado to provide effective "real world" self defense. More info at pawado.com.
