The Ephrata Community Concert Band is a volunteer group of musicians from Ephrata and the surrounding areas. They perform several concerts each summer and are under the auspices of the Ephrata Rec Center. The concerts are usually performed in the Tom Grater Park in Ephrata. In the case of inclement weather, the program is moved to the Ephrata Rec Center.

Rehearsals
The band rehearses on Sunday afternoons on concert days at the Ephrata Rec Center. Pre-season rehearsals will also be held on Tuesday evenings
June 10 and June 24.

 

Conductor
Mr. James Kimmel has been the conductor of the Ephrata Community Concert Band since 2024. He taught instrumental music for 40 years in the Ephrata Area School District. His educational degrees include a BM in Music Education from Mansfield University, an MM in Music Education from West Chester University and several administrative certificates. Mr. Kimmel served as a guest conductor for many band festivals and held leadership roles in PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators Association).

 

Details for Musicians
Please arrive on time for rehearsals. 
Bring a pencil and a music stand. 
Attire for concerts is black pants and a white shirt with nice shoes. 
Concerts are held in Ephrata Park. If inclement weather, the program will be moved to the Ephrata Rec Center. 
Music folders will be distributed at the pre-season rehearsals. 
Arrival time for concerts is always 30 minutes prior to the performance time.
