Hiking Schedule 2012 Coming Soon
PLEASE NOTE that although it will not be unusual to see both Glenn and Patti doing the same hikes at the same locations, the level of effort to accomplish these hikes will be VERY DIFFERENT. Glenn's pace will be more relaxed and "break sensitive", while Patti's pace will be more aggressive and contain fewer and shorter breaks. If there is ever a question as to your ability to do one of Patti's hikes, please do not hesitate to contact Patti.
March and April hikes are being planned as 'getting back into the season' hikes and will be on the gentler side (although Patti's hikes will still be more aggressive in nature compared to Glenn's).
Additional information regarding length, carpooling, etc. will generally be sent out the Monday prior to a scheduled hike, including graduated hike rating information as follows: (easy, moderate, challenging, strenuous, and difficult) with respect to distance, elevation gain, terrain and trail conditions.
Stephanie and Glenn may be adding local hikes during the weekdays, as weather permits, on an impromptu basis. They will make every attempt to post notice at least 24 hours in advance, so check your email daily!
In addition to requiring RSVPs for hikes that are considerable driving distance (car pooling) or involve more than 4 or 5 hours on the trail, we are requesting "courtesy" RSVPs for the shorter, less distant hikes; although with over 100 members on our distribution list, we also request that you DO NOT RSVP if you will not be hiking.
- All EASY TO MODERATE hikes will be impromptu. Hikes may be any day of the week. Notice of hikes will be sent out to all those on the distribution list 1-7 days prior to the hike date specifying time and location as well as hiking distance and terrain expectations.
- Hikes cancelled due to inclement weather will be announced via email by 9:00 p.m. the evening before a hike.
- Most hikes will be local and pet friendly so carpooling will not be offered unless requested by a hiking member
- No RSVP will be required
- Should you have any suggestions of a hiking location, or would like to coordinate your own impromptu hike, please contact one of the hiking club coordinators.
